Player Bio

Shanali grew up in upstate NY playing soccer most of her life. In 2009, she first played rugby in her junior year of high school. Competing as a prop, Shanali was one of the founding members of her high school team with several of her friends.

After high school, she moved to Boston to attend Northeastern University and continued playing rugby as a hooker until graduation. Post undergrad, she immediately joined Beantown in 2016 for summer 7s and has happily played both prop and hooker positions to present day. She’s since held board positions as Clerk, Social Chair, Recruitment and Retention Co-Chair, and four-time Captain of Development. Her goal is to play as long as her teammate Kelly Craven has been playing, but it is known that Craven will outplay everyone!
